Modern Slavery Statement
Cleaners Pimlico Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Cleaners Pimlico has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our operations or supply chains. Cleaners Pimlico is committed to the highest ethical standards and to conducting business in a manner that respects human rights and safeguards the dignity and wellbeing of all workers.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Cleaners Pimlico maintains a clear, uncompromising zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, and child labour. We do not tolerate any practice that abuses or exploits individuals, whether directly in our own workforce or indirectly through our suppliers, subcontractors, or any other business partners. All business decisions and relationships must align with this policy, and any conflict with these standards is not acceptable.
All employees, managers, and contractors are required to comply with our anti-slavery commitments as a condition of working with or for Cleaners Pimlico. Any suspected breach will be investigated and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Standards
Our supply chains primarily include providers of cleaning products, equipment, workwear, and support services. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can arise at various stages of these supply chains, particularly where there are complex sourcing arrangements or reliance on low-paid or migrant labour.
Cleaners Pimlico expects all suppliers and subcontractors to uphold equivalent standards on human rights and labour practices. We require suppliers to confirm that they do not use forced or trafficked labour and that they provide safe working conditions, fair wages, and legal working hours. Where appropriate, we incorporate contractual clauses requiring compliance with modern slavery legislation and our ethical requirements.
Supplier Audits and Due Diligence
To strengthen our oversight, we conduct proportionate due diligence on suppliers, especially those assessed as higher risk due to sector, geography, or nature of services. This may include pre-appointment checks and periodic reviews of existing suppliers. Our approach to supplier audits includes requesting information on labour practices, recruitment methods, use of labour agencies, and worker protections, as well as reviewing relevant policies and certifications where available.
Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to improve standards within a clear timeframe. If satisfactory progress is not made, or if serious violations are confirmed, Cleaners Pimlico reserves the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Cleaners Pimlico encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns about potential modern slavery or human trafficking in confidence and without fear of retaliation. Concerns can be reported to line managers or senior management through our established internal reporting routes. We treat all reports seriously and investigate them promptly and sensitively.
We are committed to protecting anyone who reports a genuine concern from victimisation or detrimental treatment. Where necessary, we will engage with external experts or authorities to address substantiated issues and ensure appropriate protection and remediation for affected individuals.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We provide appropriate information and guidance to managers and staff so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond. This includes integrating modern slavery awareness into induction for relevant roles and updating training as legislation, guidance, and best practice evolve. We also review our internal policies, such as recruitment, supplier management, and whistleblowing, to ensure alignment with our anti-slavery commitments.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement, and the associated policies and procedures, rests with Cleaners Pimlico senior management. We monitor the effectiveness of our approach through review of supplier performance, incident reports, audit findings, and feedback from staff and stakeholders.
This statement is reviewed at least annually to reflect changes in our business, supply chains, and regulatory environment, as well as to incorporate lessons learned and good practice. Any necessary updates will be approved by senior management and communicated to relevant parties. By maintaining this ongoing review and improvement process, Cleaners Pimlico aims to safeguard workers in our business and supply chains and to contribute to the wider eradication of modern slavery and human trafficking.
